Napalm Death in Australia in 2010

Napalm Death!

Got word last week that Napalm Death, a band I really love, is touring Australia again.

They were last in Australia in September 2007 (see my review for FasterLouder), but I last saw them at Wacken 2009 (not a full review, but they got a mention in day 4 of my diary).

One of the nutters over at Demon Pigeon reviewed a recent Napalm show, which is interesting to me because I imagine they’ll be playing a similar set. It’s nice (although not surprising) to hear they put as much effort into a show in a shithole as they do in a stadium or festival – especially because they’ll be playing the good ole Amplifier Bar in Perth!

Frontman Barney Greenaway is outspoken on a variety of topics, but also comes across as a really nice bloke. Here’s a recent interview from Mexico that’s kind of interesting. I couldn’t help laughing because there appears to be people jogging laps in the background. Every time they cut back to Barney, the runners are at a different point. It’s funny, trust me.

Australian dates for Napalm Death – supported by none other than Dying Fetus, who impressed greatly on last year’s Australian Summer Slaughter tour – can be found on the brand-spanking new Soundworks Touring web site:

September 1st – Amplifier Bar, Perth
September 2nd – Fowler’s Live, Adelaide
September 3rd  – The Hifi, Brisbane
September 4th – The Factory, Sydney
September 5th – The Hifi, Melbourne

If your going to the Perth show, you can get tickets through Metal As Fuck and help out our favourite zine of obliteration. And I’ll see you there!
